Use shutter clips when you would like to install your Masticâ„¢ exterior vinyl shutters without any mounting hardware visible on the outside surface of the shutters. Shutter clips are a little more work to install, but the end result is a more eye-pleasing vinyl shutter installation.
Please note that when you order Masticâ„¢ vinyl shutters, shutterplugs and painted steel screws are included with each pair for mounting. However, you may order these shutter clips if you would like an alternate exterior vinyl shutter mounting method that looks better.

Description
Mastic shutter clips provide a more aesthetic exterior shutter installation by mounting from behind the window shutters instead of piercing them. Once the exterior shutters are snapped into place, the installation is permanent. Each bag contains 12 shutter clips and 12 wall anchors - enough hardware for installing one pair of vinyl exterior shutters. Mounting screws are not included.
These shutter clips are designed to work with Mastic standard-sized and Mastic custom exterior vinyl shutters only, however they may work for other types of vinyl shutters.

You can use ferrules (a short cylindrical pipe) as standoffs to keep your vinyl shutters stable. Simply paint them, trim to size, and mount them behind your exterior shutters. Do not to put wood blocks behind the vinyl exterior shutters because they will rot fairly quickly.
